Description
Petzl ID S is an automatically locking descent and belay device with anti-misuse functions. The product is suitable for use with core ropes with a diameter of 10 – 11.5 mm according to standards EN1891 and EN 892. Thanks to the safety latch in the opening side plate, the product does not have to be removed from the harness during rope installation. When the device is loaded, the rope locks automatically. By turning the handle of the device, the friction decreases and the rope starts to move (the speed should be controlled by hand from the free end of the rope). When turning the handle with too much force, the device locks the rope automatically ( = "anti-panic" function). When the load is removed, the rope is released, allowing the rope to be moved freely in both directions. The rope can be safely locked by turning the handle of the device to the locking position (= "working position"). The anti-misuse latch in the device prevents descent if the rope is installed in the device in the wrong direction. The product is also suitable for use as part of pulley systems. The product complies with standards EN341 type A, EN12841 type C. Weight: 530 g. Tested individually. The lifetime of the product is unlimited.
