Black Diamond on yksi ulkoilumaailman merkittävimmistä yrityksistä, kiipeily- ja vapaalaskumaailman ikoninen varustaja, jonka tuotteisssa heijastuu rakkaus kiveen, jäähän ja lumeen ovat. Se aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1957, kun amerikkalainen kiipeilijä Yvon Chuinard päätti alkaa tekemään kiipeilyvälineitä ja myymään niitä autonsa takakontista Yosemitessa, Kaliforniassa. Tuotteiden laatu keräsi nopeasti mainetta, ja yhtiö sai alkunsa Venturassa, Kaliforniassa.
BD on Bluesign® Systems-partneri vuodesta 2012. Se on maailmanlaajuinen standardi, joka mittaa tuotantoketjujen kestävyyttä ja turvallisuutta tarkastelemalla käytettyjä raaka-aineita ja kemikaaleja ja niiden vaikutuksia luonnolle ja ihmisille.

Laaja valikoima kiipeilyvaljaita, varmistuslaitteita, lumiturvallisuutta sekä vaatetusta. Lähes legendaariset Notion -kiipeilyhousut ovat monen kiipeilijän luottohousut. Recon -sarja pitää takamaastossa liikkujan turvassa sekä tyytyväisenä lumiturvallisuussettien sekä kuorivaatteiden myötä.
