Ortovox has announced a recall for the 3+ avalanche transmitter. The recall only applies to ORTOVOX 3+ transmitters with software version 2.1. The recall does not apply to transmitters with software version 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.2, no matter what color. All other ORTOVOX avalanche transmitters (S1+, S1, ZOOM+) are outside the recall.

Ortovox does not want to compromise on safety and a possible problem has been detected in the transmitter software version 2.1 and it will be updated to version 2.2.

How to check your device?

You can check the software version of your own device as follows:

Switch on the device, the device must be in the transmission position (the button on the top of the device pressed down). The following information appears in the box:

  • 10-digit serial number
  • Screen test image
  • Remaining battery life
  • SOFTWARE VERSION
