Greetings from Mera!!
Tässä pikku fiilistely edelliseltä vuorireissulta Mandala Travelin matkanjohtajana 🙂
In this post, you can enjoy the photos from the end of the trip on the mountain itself. I will write my own story about the approach trek soon.
….
Khare 5045m
Meran perusleiriin ja yläleiriin telttamajoitulseen siirrytään Kharesta 5045m korkeudesta. Khare on pieni kylä, jossa on viimeinen mahdollisuus majoittua sisätiloissa. Paikan päältä löydät leipomon ja netti toimii hyvin pienillä “raaputusarvoilla” joista saat käyttöösi tietyn määrän data-aikaa. Tosin kannattaa varautua, ettei kortteja aina ole saatavilla ja netin käytön aikaa on rajoitettu.
The slopes next to Khare's accommodations work excellently as a practice slope for roping skills. In particular, the sandy back slope of the shot above is a perfect place to practice climbing, as the sun warms you up well. In the evening, the clouds arrive and it can be very cold indoors, so sweatpants are also a must here.
Many people don't prefer showering at these heights, but I personally tested it after the summit....even without washing my hair. A bucket full of hot water, a shed on a cobblestone floor, and the job is done quickly. If you take the opportunity, don't leave the process until dusk. It's sure to be lively!!

Base camp 5350m
The base camp under the edge of the glacier is first approached along a good path. Soon, however, we move to a rocky and sometimes steep climb. If you have weak or easily aching knees, you should book hiking poles with you. You should also allow extra time for the descent.
The base camp is right next to the glacier. Even if the visibility is hindered by afternoon clouds on the way, it is possible to see the wonderful scenery from the camp.
You have to be careful with drinking water. The meltwater looks like tap water and there are bad spots. However, it is possible to melt the ice from above the camp. We carried a little extra water with us, and with tea, melt water isn't any worse.
……….
Upper camp 5780m
The journey towards the upper camp is pleasant. The accommodation has been next to the glacier and the day starts immediately with snow. The route is clear and easy to navigate. There are enough hills!
Yäleiri is one of the most amazing places. A rocky slope with stunning views. A word of warning about nighttime toilet gigs. A light/lamp should be included!
Upstairs, we compacted the tent units and eating takes place in the tent when the weather is cool. The camp is only for rest and departure towards the peak at night.

Towards the top 6461m
Sunrise. The best ever!!! The mountain is cold. Very cold. This time we had to climb the whole way wearing a top coat. In recent days, many people came who had had to turn around because of the cold.
The journey to this top is clear and not very bumpy this time. The views are impossibly wonderful, crowned by Everest itself in the back left (where the clouds touch the mountains).
Technically, the mountain is easy, but the challenge is the long distances and especially the ascent closer to five and a half kilometers. Good acclimatization is a prerequisite for everything. This time our whole group 100% reached the top and that's what we celebrated!

Tälläisiä kuvafiilistelyjä tällä erää 🙂
Soon there will be more trips around the world.
Happy New Year!!!
